Mick Rooney is the editor, researcher and proprietor of The Independent Publishing Magazine. The site provides publishing industry news, in-depth reviews and feature articles on publishing companies and author solutions services. The sites also provide considerable resources and links for the casual and serious author, as well as industry professionals.
Mick Rooney is also a journalist, novelist and publishing consultant. He works with authors and publishers on private and commercial projects in an advisory, developmental and supportive role. He has been writing for more than twenty-fives years and he has self-published and commercially published books of fiction and non fiction in that time. As well as his work on The Independent Publishing Magazine, he has had many articles published in print and online magazines, including Writers' Forum, Publishing Basics Magazine, Self-Publishing Review, Irish Publishing News and Publetariat. He is also a regular poster on several writers' forums.
He published A Seriously Useful Author's Guide: To Self-Publish or Not to Self-Publish, in the autumn of 2010 (Troubador Publishing UK).

Thais is perhaps one of Mick Rooney's most powerful and poignant books and is the one he is most often requested to read from at public readings.
