Sony Electronics is launching two new ebook readers in late August to replace their 505 and 700 models. The Reader Pocket Edition and Reader Touch Edition will sell at $199 and $299. These readers now come in at or below Amazon's Kindle retail price of $299.
In a further significant move to step up the competition, Sony have also announced that new and best-selling ebooks will retail in their e-store at $9.99, bringing them into line with Amazon's pricing.
